Summary:

We are looking for a detail-oriented person who enjoys improving processes and thrives in a fast-paced environment. In this role, you will lead several process improvements including 1099 reporting, and invoice entry through our online portal, and are willing to find ways to improve efficiency and visibility. The accounts payable team is a highly visible department and there is an opportunity for growth for the right candidate. We are looking for a positive person who is ready to learn and grow their talents within finance and work to transition into a lead role.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Projects to automate invoice entry

  • Ensure compliance with 1099 reporting and record keeping (W9s)

  • Process PO invoices through a 3-way match

  • Work closely with procurement and vendors to resolve discrepancies between the PO and invoices

  • Verify the accuracy of invoice data, vendor info, accounting code, cost center

  • Respond to inquiries and complete projects relating to invoices, and payments

  • Perform an audit of posted invoices prior to the biweekly check runs

  • Compile monthly accrual and assist month-end closing

  • Reconcile vendor monthly statements

  • Follow up on outstanding invoices and checks

  • Research outstanding checks and maintain required support for unclaimed property

  • Ensure compliance with Unclaimed Property reporting and laws

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

  • Demonstrates exceptional service

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Eye for detail and accuracy in day-to-day activities.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Word.

  • Shows initiative to improve processes

  • Proficient in related financial software products (SAP preferred)

  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience required

  • Basic accounting knowledge, including debits, credits, and GL account structures

  • General knowledge of yearly 1099 reporting requirements

  • Ability to handle difficult issues in an informed and professional manner

  • Responsible and trustworthy with confidential information

  • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and effectively perform all assigned tasks

  • APS or CAPS certification is preferred

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
