Description/Job Summary

  • Safety - complies with all written and verbal safety rules of the plant and department including the use of personal protective equipment.

  • Must maintain good housekeeping in their assigned areas.

  • Must show the ability learn how to properly lace-up the equipment they have been assigned to.

  • Must show the ability to learn all future tasks of the job, and show continuous improvement throughout training process.

  • Must be able to identify and use basic hand tools.

  • Must show the ability to do basic math. This is to include: adding, subtraction, division and multiplication.

  • Must be able to read a tape measure down to 1/16".

  • Must be able to locate all E-stops on the machine on which they are being trained on, and must show how to activate all those E-stops.

  • Must show a basic understanding of P.H. and viscosity.

  • Must be able to perform all daily task of data entry in the IBS Production System.

  • Must demonstrate active participation in Company's Stretching Program.

Responsibilities/Duties

  • Climbing, ascending or descending ladders, stairs, and the like using feet and legs and / or hands and arms.

  • Stooping, bending body downward and forward by bending spine and waist.

  • Kneeling, bending legs at knee to come to a rest on knee or knees.

  • Crouching, bending the body downward and forward by bending leg and spine.

  • Reaching, extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction. Example: giving signals, reaching for material or handle on item.

  • Standing, particularly for sustained periods of time.

  • Walking, moving out on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for Long distances.

  • Lifting, raising objects from a lower to higher position or moving objects horizontally from position to position. Degree of lifting: Up to50 lbs.

  • Fingering, picking, pinching, typing or otherwise working primarily with fingers rather than the whole hand or arm as in handling.

  • Grasping, applying pressure to an object with fingers and palm.

  • Feeling, perceiving attributes of objects such as size, shape, temperature or texture by touching with skin, particularly that of fingertips.

  • Talking, expressing or exchanging ideas by means of spoken word, via face to face or telephone.

  • Hearing, perceiving the nature of sounds with no less than a 40 db loss @ 500 Hz, 1000 Hz, and 2000 Hz with or without correction.

  • Ability to receive verbal communication and to make fine discriminations in sound, such as when making fine adjustments on machined parts.

  • Balancing, maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling when walking, standing or crouching on narrow, slippery or erratically moving surfaces.

  • Crawling, moving about on hands and knees or hands and feet.

  • Pulling, using upper extremities to exert force in order to drag, haul or tug objects in a sustained motion.

  • Pushing, using upper extremities to press against something with steady force in order to thrust forward, downward or outward.

Visual

  • Machine operation, inspection, close assembly, clerical and administrative duties. Extensive reading, visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, using measurement devise close to the eyes.

  • Mobile equipment operations, chain hoist to load/unload cylinders.

  • Position requires individual to differentiate colors, depth and perception.

  • Inside environmental conditions protected from weather conditions not necessarily temperature conditions.

  • Outside environmental conditions, no effective protection from weather.

  • Inside and outside environments apply.

  • Subject to extreme cold, temperatures below 32 degrees for periods of more than one hour.

  • Subject to extreme heat, temperatures above 100 degrees for periods of no more than one hour.

  • Subject to noise causing reason to shout in order to be heard above the noise level.

  • Subject to hazards, such as moving machinery, electrical currents, falling debris, exposure to chemicals, gases, high heat or combustible materials.

  • Subject to unregulated atmospheric conditions caused by orders, fumes, gases, poor ventilation and dusts.

  • Subject to oils and various inks via touch or air.

Required Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent.

  • Good oral and written communication skills.

  • Available for overtime.

  • Must have mechanical aptitude.

  • Available to train on different machinery and sets of lines within the department.

  • Must be able to discern between various color shades.
