Carollo Engineers Mid-Level Instrumentation and Controls BIM Designer in Littleton, Colorado

Overview

Carollo Engineers is an internationally recognized environmental engineering firm that specializes in the planning, design, and construction of water and wastewater facilities. We are seeking a Mid Level Instrumentation and Control BIM Designer.

This position is a Mid-Level BIM designer position. The position requires experience in developing drawings for P&ID (Process and Instrumentation Diagrams), PFD (Process Flow Diagram), and revisions to existing drawings using MicroStation and AutoCAD software. Position must demonstrate an understanding of inter-discipline coordination. This position also requires an advanced level of proficiency in 2D CAD applications and a basic understanding of intelligent P&ID and PFD software applications.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include the following. Other dutiesmay be assigned.

  • Utilize current drafting practices and tools for completion of assigned drafting tasks.

  • Assist in the development of instrumentation drawings, data sheets, I/O wiring diagrams, P&IDs, PDFs, and loop diagrams.

  • Assemble typical details as required to support Instrumentation and Control drawings.

  • Assist in the preparation of estimates and material lists with project engineer’s or project manager’s guidance.

  • Develop control panel elevation drawings.

  • Assist in quality checking of drafted product and conformance with drawing production standards and project specific CAD/BIM requirements.

  • Provide basic technical support for 2D schematic CAD applications.

  • Develop basic SCADA block diagrams.

  • Size flow meters and meter selection.

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of experience in engineering or related field.

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.

  • Basic understanding of the application of instrumentation controls.

  • Familiar with International Society of Automation (ISA) standards.

  • Working knowledge of water, wastewater, and infrastructure design.

  • Fundamental understanding of converting data between MicroStation and AutoCAD.

  • Basic understanding of fiber optic cable routing.

  • Understanding of basic network cabinets.

  • Experience in working with multiple discipline projects.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in the development of 2D Electrical and Instrumentation schematic drawings.

  • Proficient with MicroStation and AutoCAD.

  • Working knowledge of P&ID CAD applications.

  • Working knowledge of database software.

  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Two-year technical or Associate Degree.

Pay Range

$30.00 to $35.00 hourly. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee’s pay within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.
