Weyerhaeuser Lead Supervisor in Longview, Washington

Weyerhaeuser Company is seeking a Lead Supervisor for our Log Export Facility in Longview, WA. Join our Western Timberlands Log Marketing team, which operates the largest log export facility in North America!

This salaried exempt position reports to the Washington Export Yard Team Leader for Longview, WA. The salary range is based on qualifications and experience.

As the Lead Supervisor, you will oversee safety management, financial performance (including costs and revenues), log yard and dock logistics, union employee management, production, quality control, log accountability, and inventory management. Preferred candidates will have experience in log scaling, log marketing, manufacturing, industrial safety, and production supervision.

You must be willing to work flexible hours and collaborate effectively with the export yard’s leadership team to meet business needs. This role includes weekend duties and on-call responsibilities on a rotational basis with peers.

Key Functions:

  • Lead and model safe behaviors, including accident prevention, safety training, and inspections.
  • Assist in developing the team to achieve operational excellence in safety, reliability, cost, and quality.
  • Ensure compliance with company, state, and federal regulations.
  • Manage hourly employees according to company policies and the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
  • Plan and execute daily/weekly activities with the frontline leadership team to meet business objectives.
  • Provide feedback, coaching, and discipline to team members.
  • Perform administrative duties using Microsoft Office, databases, payroll systems, and other software.

  • Bachelor’s degree in forestry, Manufacturing, Industrial Supervision, Business, or related field, or equivalent experience.

  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in Forestry, Manufacturing, Wood Products/Timber Industry, Industrial Supervision, Business, or related fields.
  • At least 4 years of supervisory experience.
  • Highly motivated, creative, and self-directed team player.
  • Strong leadership, communication (both written and oral), and interpersonal skills.
  • Solid business acumen with experience in business negotiations.
  • Proven ability to promote and maintain a safe work environment.
  • Knowledge of industrial manufacturing methods, log yard operations, logging, or other forestry-related operations.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Valid driver's license with the ability to safely operate a vehicle.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC card).
  • Ability to safely work in and around log yard and ship loading operations.

What We Offer

Compensation:This role is eligible for our annual merit-increase program, and we are targeting a salary range of $97,351 - $146,027 based on your level of skills, qualifications and experience. You will also be eligible for our Annual Incentive Program, which offers a cash bonus targeting 10% of base pay. Potential plan funding may range from zero to two times that target.

Retirement: Employees are able to enroll in our company’s 401k plan, which includes a paid company match in addition to our annual contribution equal to 5% of your base salary.

Paid Time Off or Vacation: We provide eligible employees who are scheduled to work 25 hours or more per week with 3-weeks of paid vacation to use during your first year of employment. In addition, after being employed for six months, eligible employees begin to accrue vacation for future use. We also recognize eleven paid holidays per year, providing a total of 88 holiday hours.* *
