Aviation Maintenance Technician Instructor of Practice

Search Status: Application material received by April 15, 2025 will receive primary consideration.

Saint Francis University invites applications for a full time, 12-month position of Aviation Maintenance Technician Instructor of Practice in the Aviation Maintenance Technician School in the Division of Professional Studies.  The Instructor of Practice would be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction to students pursuing careers in aircraft maintenance.  This role requires a deep understanding of aviation maintenance practices, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to providing students with the knowledge and skills necessary for a successful career in the field.

As Saint Francis of Assisi placed great value on placing one's talents at the service of others, the University expects instructors to train and form students for excellence in their profession as AMT's. Through instruction and example, the faculty will guide their students to seek self-gift instead of self-advancement, to strive for excellence without arrogance, and to reject the power and prestige of knowledge as they serve their brothers and sisters.

Successful candidates will meet, at the minimum, the following qualifications: FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certification is required. Several years of experience working as an Aviation Maintenance Technician. Excellent communication skills are essential.  Knowledge of aviation regulations, safety protocols, and industry best practices.  Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities. Experience with aircraft and technology used in the field. Willingness to work in a dynamic and evolving educational environment.  Strong commitment to safety and compliance. Preferred qualifications include previous teaching or instructional experience in an aviation maintenance program.  Additional aviation-related certifications and endorsements a plus.

Interested candidates should complete an online application at http://www.francis.edu/employment, then submit a letter of application, 3 references (names, mailing and email address, and telephone numbers), and current resume to: positions@francis.edu

Saint Francis University is committed to diversity of students, staff, and faculty, and encourages applications from historically underrepresented individuals, women, veterans, and persons with disabilities. AA/EOE
