Jacobs Senior Rail/Track Project Engineer in Los Angeles, California

As a vital member of our California team, out of Irvine, San Diego or Los Angeles, you’ll have the opportunity to work as a lead rail/track engineer variety of exciting large rail projects across the country. In this position you will be responsible for leading the design, calculations and engineering services on both design-build and design-bid-build projects. You would be expected to have direct interaction with our clients to ensure the worked produced meets the clients’ expectations and standards. We are looking for someone who is looking to work towards the goal of becoming a Project Manager, with interest in becoming a seller-doer.
Working alongside a team of technicians and engineers, you’ll be responsible for multidiscipline coordination and providing oversight on the production of drawings and 3d models using software tools and resources supporting our clients’ overall project goals.

Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering.
California Professional Engineer (PE) License.
Extensive design experience in Track and Civil Engineering.
At least 10 years of demonstrated professional experience on rail and transit projects.
Proficient in both MicroStation and Power InRail.
Knowledge of FRA/DOT, AREMA, SCRRA and other local railroad criteria.
Strong analytical, conceptual, communication and organizational skills.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Ability to lead a team to assemble plans, specifications, and estimates.
Ideally, You’ll Also Have:
Professional expertise with OpenRail
Professional expertise with AutoCAD Civil 3D
3D modeling knowledge
Experience on both Freight and Commuter Rail project
