UCLA Health Staff Research Associate I - Semel Institute in Los Angeles, California

The Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior is seeking to hire a full-time Staff Research Associate I to join the Kasari Lab. Primary duties include:

  • Responsible for data processing and maintenance.

  • Acquire social-behavioral questionnaire and observational data from young children with autism and their mothers participating in several early intervention research studies.

  • Score data and/or behaviorally code and enter it electronically.

  • Maintain data in an up to date and accessible format.

Pay Range: $25.75 - $30.71 hourly. Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in psychology or health related field or 2 years' experience working with children with autism required.

  • Ability to work consistently, independently, and accurately to complete assignments is required.

  • Ability to work cooperatively as a member of a research team and with hospital staff is required.

  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of research methods including Privacy and Confidentiality required.

  • Proficiency with Mac and PC based computers and MS Office required.

  • Ability to be flexible in dealing with changes in workload or assignments and in completing assignments required.

  • Excellent speaking and written skills, attention to detail, and strong initiative required.

  • Ability to problem solve and work flexible hours on occasion to accommodate participant scheduling required.

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of developmental assessments for children (e.g. Mullen Scale of Early Learning) is preferred.

  • Knowledge of library resources to conduct literature searches is preferred.

  • Ability to provide transportation for self to and from community sites and academic offices preferred.
