Position Overview:

Internship positions at PRIME provide college students an opportunity to gain real-world experience in their specific field of study. Interns will work alongside world-class professionals in a fast-paced, professional setting which provides interns with invaluable experiences applying the knowledge and skills learned through education in a business environment.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Design various types of electrical systems utilized within the respective markets listed below.
  • Perform analyses and apply problem solving techniques to develop creative, innovative solutions.
  • Perform a variety of complicated tasks and critical thinking.
  • Take part in reviewing, understanding, and applying local, state and federal codes and standards related to the design and construction of project facilities.
  • Learn and apply market specific guidelines, the practices and policies of the associated local discipline, divisions, and firm.
  • Assist field staff, General Contractors, Architects, and Engineers to ensure compliance with specifications and design during construction.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Students pursuing a BS degree from an ABET accredited engineering program.
  • Willingness to learn about water infrastructure type projects as mentioned above for local, state and federal clients involving municipal and industrial markets.
  • Exposure to systems and software to include AutoCAD, MicroStation, ArcGIS, KyPIPE, SWMM, HEC-RAS, PCSWMM, EPANET, WaterCAD, and Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
