University of Louisville Stewardship Specialist II (Assistant Director Donor Relations) in Louisville, Kentucky

Minimum Requirements:Bachelor's degree in a related field and two (2) years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Grade 6 (Salaried)Position Description:The Stewardship Specialist II (Assistant Director of Donor Relations) will work in the Office of Donor Relations, serve on the team of, and report to, the Associate Director of Donor Relations. This position is responsible for recognition, acknowledgement, reporting, and experiences for donors of the university and will assist the Associate Director of Donor Relations in the execution of stewardship strategy for the university. This position needs to develop and maintain positive and mutually rewarding relationships between the university and its donors; and partner with development officers to determine the best strategies for effective stewardship of donors.This position requires key customer service as well as technological skills to ensure the internal database processes match the stewardship process and donor transparency required. This position requires the ability to generate creative solutions for recognizing and stewarding donors to advance the university's efforts to maintain and strengthen high-quality individual relationships with donors, and to think strategically about donor engagement.Duties & ResponsibilitiesManage and monitor the Donor Portal, ThankView platforms, and scholarship awards management platform ensuring with IT that there is internal and external functionality and transparency. Regularly research available technology to make sure the system is the most advanced and meeting all donor needs.Prepare Contract Gift Agreements (CGA’s) and other gift documentation and correspondence.Assist with coordinating donor engagement and recognition events, either public or one-on-one donor interaction such as meetings with scholarship recipients, etc.Facilitate the creation of stewardship reports for both endowed and non-endowed fund donors on a routine basis as well as oversee the process for annual impact reporting, which includes cross-campus coordination with departments and LFOs, the execution of an E.A.R.S. system questionnaire, and routine maintenance of fund and stewarded records in a CRM.Partner with University Advancement's IT team to create and maintain recognition websites for endowed scholarships, professorships/research/named facilities, and giving societies.Serve as the stewardship liaison to frontline fundraisers to plan stewardship functions and activities.Coordinate stewardship efforts in conjunction with the Director of Annual Giving.As needed, serve as a back up to monitor and maintain the donor service account and telephone line to ensure both components serve as an open line of communication for our donors to connecting them to the proper person.As needed, serve as back up to ensure that all acknowledgements (letters/receipts, in honor of letters, memorial letters, manual receipts, receipt/letter modifications, email bounce back receipts) are prepared and mailed in a timely fashion.Preferred QualificationsExperience in donor relations and/or stewardship in a higher education settingCompetenciesExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsExcellent customer service skillsExperience in donor relations and knowledge of endowments.Please include a cover letter along with your resume in ONE attachment.
