Position Description:

Performs manual and routine duties in food service and/or kitchen areas. Responsible for the preparation and replenishment of food, and for custodial duties of the dining and kitchen areas. Duties are performed under close supervision and is reviewed while in progress or upon completion. Ability to perform physically demanding activity including lifting, walking, and stooping.

Major/Essential Functions:

  • Perform routine tasks consistently.

  • Operate and clean food service equipment without supervision.

  • Exhibits the ability to clean and sanitize with thoroughness and consistency to achieve an acceptable level of sanitation while performing custodial duties in the kitchen and food prep areas.

  • Knows and applies food safety policies and procedures for department.

  • Be a team-member and positively influence co-workers.

  • Supervise and participate in food preparation, meal presentation, front of the house maintenance and cleaning activities.

  • Take and record temperature of food and food storage areas such as refrigerators and freezers.

  • Train workers in food preparation, equipment use, customer service, sanitation, and safety procedures.

  • Perform cash handling procedures as needed.

  • Control inventories of food, equipment, smallwares, and report shortages to designated personnel.
