Description
The REALM ATS Team in Luxembourg is looking for Systems Development Engineer who will own development of the tools that enable operational efficiency and reduce operational load on the Amazon Transportation Tech org. They will also act as the first level support for all incoming production software application issues dealing with near 100+ different services in Amazon Transportation Technology. The SysDev Engineer will be specializing in automation development and application support of world wide Amazon transportation systems.
Your solutions will impact our customers directly! This job requires you to constantly hit the ground running and your ability to learn quickly and work on disparate and overlapping tasks will define your success. High Impact production issues often require coordination between multiple Development, Operations and IT Support groups, so you get to experience a breadth of impact with various groups.
Primary responsibilities include providing on-call support on a rotation basis schedule among the team members, troubleshooting and diagnosing systemic and infrastructure issues, fixing production software issues, developing monitoring solutions, performing software maintenance and configuration, implementing the fix for internally developed code, updating, tracking and resolving technical challenges. Responsibilities also include working alongside development of software projects, updating/enhancing our current software, automation of support processes and documentation of our systems.
The ideal candidate must be detail oriented, have superior verbal and written communication skills, strong organizational skills, able to juggle multiple tasks at once, able to work independently and can maintain professionalism under pressure. You must be able to identify problems before they happen and implement solutions that detect and prevent outages. You must be able to accurately prioritize projects, make sound judgments, work to improve the customer experience, and get the right things done.
Basic Qualifications
Knowledge of systems engineering fundamentals (networking, storage, operating systems)
Experience (or internship) of 6 months to 2 years in professional software development
Experience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems
Experience programming with at least one language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, Ruby etc
Experience with Linux/Unix
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience in DevOps/SRE/SysDev background
Experience with CI/CD pipelines build processes
