The Design Engineer is responsible for providing engineering support at Pune manufacturing operations during presales and execution phase. Should lead continuous improvement and VAVE projects.
This position is part of the Manufacturing operations and will be located in Pune onsite.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
Responsible for design of filter vessel and skid assembly from conceptual to detailing level as per ASME and other relevant standards. Provide technical expertise and guidance in resolving issues related to product performance, functionality, or manufacturing processes. Should have technical expertise in ASME code, DIN standards, machining standards, hydraulics, pumps, hygienic fittings & piping components, various materials used in fabrication including SS food grade fabrication.
Provide optimal engineering solutions with costing to commercial & application team to make competitive offerings. Responsible to build & validate costing of engineering solutions with internal team members.
Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation, including product specifications, IOM Manuals, technical drawings, parts lists, SAP BOM and coordinate their release to production. Responsible for controlling drawing quality & accuracy, traceability.
Optimize design for existing product lines and in the generation of detailed design specifications and outline designs. Lead all VAVE, design to cost initiatives. Make detailed action plan & drive to complete it as per agreed timeframe.
Review customer enquiry & make customization to meet requirement. Respond to customer technical questions, utilizing in-house and outside resources as necessary. Evaluate technical offers from suppliers & lead technical discussion with suppliers.
Drafting experience on AutoCad software. Should be well conversant with drafting of GA drawings & component drawings with detail BOM.
Adherence to engineering procedure inline with ISO requirement & responsible for the continuous improvement of departmental methods, procedures and standard work.
The essential requirements of the job include:
B.E/B.Tech (Mechanical) with experience of 5-7 years.
Hands on experience in Design & Engineering of pressure vessel, skid assembly using ASME code calculation & machining standards. Familiar with pump selection & basic hydraulic calculations, component machining & fabrication process.
Should be capable to work under pressure and be capable to handle multiple actions to meet the on-time demand. Should be able to manage changes in requirement & prioritize work based on urgency. Should be able to work independently with minimum supervision.
Proficient in costing, providing presales support to commercial team & leading customer interactions on technical matters. Should take self-initiative to collaborate with relevant stakeholders to collect inputs and drive things.
Should have effective verbal, written, analytical, computer, and group interpersonal skills and the ability to organize and prioritize work to meet deadlines.
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
Generate BOM in material master using SAP PP
Good in Microsoft office (Excel, word, Team)
