Lockheed Martin On-Site Resident Engineer in Manassas, Virginia

Description: The role will initially be based out of the LM facility in Manassas, with periodic planned travel to site to support activities, and on call travel to support customer needs. The role will eventually transition to a full-time position based at the customer site - in the U.K.

The Work

The RMS team in Manassas is looking for an On-Site Resident Engineer to support signal processing software and hardware in the United Kingdom. Work with our team as we develop and deliver new tools and updates.

As a Site Support Engineer, you will:

a) Maintain the reliability, calibration, and operational performance of the systems

b) Provide engineering assistance associated with repairs, modifications, system tests, and checkout of newly installed systems

c) Perform routine, scheduled, and preventative equipment and software maintenance

d) Review maintenance records to determine equipment and design issues that impact the operational availability of the installed systems

e) Troubleshoot and repair on-site equipment failures and investigate contributing factors to failures

f) Assist in planning, installation, and testing of engineering or field changes or modifications

g) Provide operational and maintenance On-the-Job-Training (OJT) and assistance to personnel, review and develop information necessary to revise technical documentation for the system when deficiency or changes are identified

h) Assist in tracking and developing requisition requirements of consumables and spare parts and repairable items

i) Assist in maintaining and troubleshooting system operations and data export interfaces

j) Assist in planning the facility and lab space standup, managing stakeholder needs and feedback

Basic Qualifications:

***Ability to support 50% travel in Year 1 and re-location in Year 2

• Experience testing and debugging complex software applications with many interdependencies and interfaces

• Experience with Navy Systems, specially related to Sonar and the ASW domain

• Experience working with Linux Operating Systems

• Experience in technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, and formal system development/certification experience

• Experience in providing training to both experienced and novice operators

• Experience working with computer HW

• Qualified candidates must have an active DoD Secret Security Clearance.

Desired Skills:

• Experience with scripting and programming (Bash, Python, C, Java, or etc.)

• Experience using scripts to automate processes

• Previous experience with Integrated Undersea Surveillance Systems (IUSS)

• Standard Networking knowledge

Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
