West Delaware Lambert Elementary School is seeking applicants for a Social Worker to start in August 2025.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or higher in Social Work, Human Service, Education, or a related field is required.
School social work degree or licensure preferred.
Experience with youth programming and/or community services preferred.
Such alternatives as the Board may find acceptable.
Performance Criteria:
Serve as a member or leader of the building team in developing and overseeing successful tiered support systems to serve all students in grades K-4 and identify those in need of Tier 2 and Tier 3 supports in the area of Social-Emotional, Behavioral, and Mental Health.
Serve as a liaison between families, school, and community agencies to provide interventions for overcoming a broad range of barriers to school success.
Assist the school team in providing direct service to students with social-emotional or behavioral needs.
Collaborate regularly with other professional staff members to identify academic and social/emotional/behavioral goals, monitor student progress, and design intervention to improve achievement.
Provide assessment and intervention services for individuals and/or groups.
Identify or develop programming to address barriers to school success, including but not limited to social skills training or anger management.
Make provision for being available to students and parents for education-related purposes outside the instructional day when required or requested to do so under reasonable terms.
Maintain professional competence through professional development activities provided by the district and in self-selected professional growth activities.
Provide active, effective communication and positive relationships with students, parents, community members, staff and administration.
Demonstrate awareness of and sensitivity to the unique social, cultural, and economic circumstances for students and their racial/ethnic, gender, age, physical and learning differences.
In collaboration with counselors and administrators, coordinate services with community agencies and assist the family in utilizing these services.
Use and integrate technology effectively in daily work.
Maintain confidentiality of student and family data and information.
Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulation, and protect the confidentiality of the records.
Attend meetings as scheduled by the Building Principal, Director of Student Services, or Superintendent.
Compensation and Benefits:
Contract Length: 197 days of service. Early out every Wednesday for professional development and teacher collaboration. Work day is 7:45-3:45.
