Perform all types of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic repairs on plant equipment. May also do preventative maintenance, trouble shooting, overhaul, etc. * Perform all types of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic repairs on plant machinery * Continue to keep current in skills through training, classes and on the job training * Work independently in planning, laying out, and performing assigned machine repair work * Must be familiar with and have the ability to operate plant machinery related jobs assignments * Must be able to work from complicated machine drawings, part lists, specifications, schematics, and verbal instructions * Reproduce and/or repair machine parts, holders, and attachments to strict tolerances utilizing tool room equipment, such as lathes, milling machines, drill presses, welders, etc. * Must have a thorough knowledge of all bearings, seals, clutches, pumps, gears, etc. * Be able to understand interface between mechanical and electrical controls * May instruct, or direct lower rated machines repair people as needed * May be required to establish and maintain records for machine repair items * These records would be identified by part number, inventory cards, locations, order cards, part books, etc. * Must be accountable for process, evaluation, measurement, documentation, and improvement on a continuous basis * Actively participate in department and process team activities and projects. * Work safely in accordance with regulations, standards, and procedures in a manner that eliminates risk to health and the environment. Notify leadership of unsafe conditions or practices unlawful activities and activities which present unreasonable health and/or environmental risk. Report all safety and/or environmental incidents to leadership immediately. * High School diploma or GED * Four (4) years of formal trades training or equivalent experience preferred * Good verbal and interpersonal communication skills * Sound decision making skills * Have a high mechanical aptitude * Able to work independently and be a self-starter * Good math,...
