R&D Manager, Mechanical Engineering - Interventional Cardiology Maple Grove, MN About the role As R&D Mechanical Engineering Manager, you will lead a team of mechanical hardware engineers in the design, development, and commercialization of innovative electronic medical equipment (EME) within the Interventional Cardiology (IC) division of Boston Scientific This position is a leader in a fast-growing team with significant investment from the franchise. Your responsibilities include: Hiring, coaching, and/or developing mechanical engineering talent. Assessing mechanical project team needs accross IC and working with technical leads and program managers to ensure they are set up for technology and product development success. Providing direction and/or guidance to mechanical engineers who exercise significant latitude and independence in their assignments. Will also supervise non-exempt employees and external contract design firms. Monitoring compliance with company policies and procedures (e.g. compliance with FDA, BSI, EEO regulations, etc.). Making decisions regarding work processes or operational plans and schedules in order to achieve department objectives. Developing, monitoring and appropriately adjusting the annual budget for department. Monitoring and ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures (e.g. federal/country and regulatory requirements). Minimum Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree or more from accredited school in Mechanical, Biotechnical, Biomedical or Electromechanical Engineering or related discipline 5+ years experience in medical equipment or medical device design Demonstrated capability to produce innovative solutions for complex technical problems. Personal drive, individual accountability & a strong bias for action. Strong communication and collaboration skills.
