A Brief Overview
Accountable for staff development expertise as an educator, consultant, facilitator, change agent, leader and research. Supports the development of the employees and fosters empowerment through knowledge to achieve excellence through the delivery of evidence-based clinical practice. This occurs through the facilitation of the educational process through assessment, development, planning, implementation, and evaluation of competency assessment, continuing education and leadership development.
What you will do
Coordination and provision of education with regulatory assurance with the Joint Commission standards, state, federal, local and other organizational policies.
Coordinates and facilitates onsite and virtual learning activities as needed.
Collaborates and coordinates with other healthcare professionals and organizations to build relationships and advance education and training initiatives.
Assists leadership in establishing/maintaining methods to evaluate and document staff education and training.
Mentors and supervises staff to acquire new skills, develop their careers, and effectively incorporate evidence into practice.
Supervision of staff will include (i) assigning teaching duties under approved curriculum, (ii) directing and overseeing the performance of such teaching duties, (iii) evaluating the performance of the employees selected to perform teaching duties, (iv) exercise of authority to make promotion and demotion decisions concerning the employees assigned teaching duties, and (v) authority to issue commendations or discipline in accordance with Avera policy.
Creates an environment that stimulates continuous self learning, reflective practice, feeling of ownership, and demonstration of responsibility and accountability.
Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, developing, training, and retaining employees; planning, assigning, and leading work; appraising performance; rewarding and coaching employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Required Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience:
Bachelor's in Nursing
Technical Certificate CE Planner Training within 1 year
Registered Nurse (Single) - Minnesota Board of Nursing Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of MN Upon Hire and
Basic Life Support Instructor - American Red Cross Upon Hire and
Crisis Prevention Intervention Certification - Crisis Prevention Institute within 1 Year and
Certified Nurse Educator (CNE) - National League for Nursing (NLN) within 1 Year and
1-3 years Experience as a Registered Nurse
Preferred Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience:
Master's in nursing with an educational focus
4-6 years Experience as a Registered Nurse
