Community Concepts, Inc. Director of Nursing in Mason, Ohio

As a Director of Nursing (DON) for Community Concepts you will oversee the Nursing and Home staff regarding the Health and Welfare of the individuals that we serve.

This will include but not limited to:

  • Act as the primary source of medical management for the individuals served including all , dietary requirements, habilitative requirements and/or orders (physical therapy/occupational therapy)
  • Act as primary liaison with Consultant Nurses, Medical Director and Pharmaceutical Consultant.
  • Maintain open communication with team and attend all meetings required
  • Attend all state surveys in each location unless otherwise directed by the Administrator.
  • Ensure that all staff and disciplines are trained, in serviced and otherwise knowledgeable as to any special provisions, equipment or services as recommended and/or ordered by above disciplines.
  • Be aware and informed of individuals medical, health and wellness at all times.
  • Assign and delegate responsibilities and job duties as reasonably determined for the Assistant Director of Nursing in coordination with the Administrator.

Qualifications:

  • A graduate of an accredited School of Nursing and a have current license as a Registered Nurse (RN) with State Broad or Nursing of Ohio.
  • Completed the approved pharmacology course. (NAPNES)
  • Preferably training and approval as a nurse trainer for the purposes of Delegated Current DODD Registered Nurse Trainer certification preferred or willing to complete.
  • Must be able to manage others in professional & efficient manner.
  • Must be able to prioritize & adjust as situations change.
  • Experience in the field of developmental/intellectual disability provision of services or long term care setting (preferably in residential services: ICF/IID
  • Must be computer literate and familiar with software programs in the use as needed, including Microsoft word, Excel, Power Point and other programs to enhance communication and documentation requirements.

Requirements:

  • Must be able pass medical fitness for duty examination, including but not limited to, TB test & drug screening.
  • Must pass BCI criminal background check and all other background checks pursuant to rules, regulations and agency policy & procedures.
  • Must have valid Ohio driver's license with less then 6 points per BMV report.
  • Must possess and provide proof of current auto insurance coverage.
  • Must complete and pass all mandatory agency orientation and training, including but not limited to: CPR, 1st Aid, CPI, vehicle driving & safety, classroom testing & training.
  • Must be able to conduct oneself calmly and professionally during stressful and demanding situations/times.
