L3Harris Senior Finance Analyst in Melbourne, Australia

The Opportunity

L3Harris Technologies is seeking a Program Financial Analyst to support our Australia-based Mission Networks program. In this role, the Financial Analyst will be providing support to the Program Finance Lead for all financial planning and reporting for the program. The Financal Analyst is responsible for providing support to the Finance Lead in supporting the Program Manager and providing essential financial reporting to the organisation. The position requires the successful candidate to be deadline driven, able to work in a fast-paced; team environment, organized and detail oriented.

Essential Functions:

  • Establish and maintain baselines as new work is awarded

  • Maintaining the financial accounting and financial control systems

  • Prepare weekly and/or monthly schedules for financial reporting in accordance with management and statutory requirements.

  • Program financial reporting, pricing and supporting the division’s proposal pricing, planning, budgeting and cost/schedule performance;

  • Ensure compliance with statutory, government policy, ethical standards and company-wide procedures and policy associated with financial management.

  • Performing analysis and preparing reports in order to ensure that contracts are within negotiated parameters and cost control guidelines;

  • Coordinate with L3Harris Payroll, Accounting, Tax and Treasury departments (APAC) as required.

  • Control activities such as Banking, Billing, Payroll, taxation, costing and expense control, external and internal audits.

  • Manage accounts receivable and payable.

  • Preparing project budgets and schedules for contract work and performs financial analysis and variance analysis;

  • Preparing pricing and financial guidance and support to project proposal teams for change requests;

  • Supporting the monthly close process, ensuring timely and accurate project reporting

    Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business with a financial analysis background and 9 years Program Finance experience with programs, proposals and audits; or equivalent; OR Graduate Degree in Finance, Accounting or Business with a financial analysis background and 7 years of Program Finance experience with programs, proposals and audits

  • Certified Practicing Accountant (CPA) qualification preferred

  • Extensive experience with EVM, financial performance reporting, internal/customer reporting

    Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Must have strong interpersonal skill set, be capable of interfacing and forming strong business partnerships with senior management staff;

  • Must be proactive in solving problems in a timely manner with minimum supervision;

  • Must have good organizational skills and be capable of prioritizing and executing multiple tasks. Must possess strong communication skills (oral, written, listening); should be capable of making presentations to internal customers and management;

  • Attention to detail and ability to work in a fast paced and deadline driven environment is a must;

  • Experience with Managed Services Telecommunications contract types; and

  • Experience in a finance role at a New Start program or company is a plus.

  • Software knowledge of ERP systems, PeopleSoft & Queries, Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint

  • Motivated self-starter, well versed in the Finance Process

  • Strong communication skills
