Northwell Health Full-Time Surgical Technologist (Ambulatory Surgery Center), Melville in Melville, New York

We are looking for a full-time Surgical Technologist for a multi-specialty surgery center located in Melville, NY

This is a permanent, full-time job, 7.5-hour shifts (6:15am, 6:30am or 6:45am start time), 5 days a week Monday through Friday. No weekends or holidays.

Requirements:

  • Certification as a Surgical Technician.

  • Previous experience in an operating room.

  • Proficiency in suture techniques and wound closure.

  • Strong knowledge of human anatomy to assist effectively during surgeries.

  • Familiarity with medical records management and documentation.

  • Experience working in Ambulatory Surgery Centers, or ICU settings is advantageous.

  • Proficient in medical terminology for clear communication within the healthcare team.

  • Ability to maintain a sterile field using aseptic techniques.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Assist surgeons and nurses in the operating room (OR) during surgical procedures.

  • Utilize suture techniques to aid in wound closure.

  • Demonstrate strong anatomy knowledge to assist in surgical procedures effectively.

  • Maintain accurate medical records and documentation.

  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals in various settings, including Ambulatory Surgery Centers, Pediatrics, and Intensive Care Units (ICU).

  • Utilize medical terminology proficiently during interactions with the healthcare team.

  • Implement aseptic techniques to maintain a sterile surgical environment.

The salary range for this position is $36-$48/hour
