Robert Half Accountant II in Memphis, Tennessee

Description

We are offering an opportunity for an Intermediate Accountant to join our team in Memphis, Tennessee. The role involves preparing journal entries, performing account analysis, and maintaining financial records.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare journal entries for assigned accounts

• Review General Ledger accounts and financial statements for reasonableness

• Identify events such as missing rent, utilities, or charges posted to the wrong account

• Estimate the amount to accrue, defer, reverse, or change based on historical data and knowledge of the business

• Determine which accounts are affected and whether to increase or decrease balances in those accounts

• Record journal entries and prepare reconciliations for assigned accounts

• Review balance sheet account balances and agree balance to supporting documentation/source

• Identify variances between documentation/source and General Ledger; research variances to identify the cause(s) of variance

• Assist in the integration of new team members and supervise less experienced team members

• Prepare schedules for auditors and assist with monthly financial presentations and analysis

• Serve as a liaison to field managers, assisting with financial issues

• Perform ad-hoc financial analysis.

Requirements • Proficient in Accounting Software Systems

• Familiarity with ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning

• Able to handle Accounting Functions effectively

• Experience in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Knowledge of Auditing processes

• Ability to manage Cash Activity

• Experience with Month End Close procedures

• Proficiency in JD Edwards EnterpriseOne software

• Understanding of Accrual Accounting principles

• Ability to manage Accruals, Monthly Accruals, and Expense Accruals

• Experience in Balance Sheet Reconciliation

• Proficient in Bank Account Reconciliation

• Ability to manage Cash Reconciliations

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role.
