Robert Half Accounting Manager/Supervisor in Mendon, Michigan
Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for an Accounting Manager/Supervisor in the Plastics Manufacturing industry. The role is based in MENDON, Michigan. As an Accounting Manager/Supervisor, you will oversee and perform accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll functions according to established procedures.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee and support accounts payable and accounts receivable through backup processing of supplier invoices and payments, as well as customer invoicing and payment applications.
• Verify AP and AR accounts by reconciling statements and transactions.
• Analyze GL accounts and resolve account discrepancies by investigating documentation.
• Develop detailed knowledge of data/information flow through ERP system.
• Develop and maintain good working relationships with supplier and customer accounting contacts.
• Manage incoming AP invoice emails and prepare and maintain documents to set up new suppliers and customers in ERP system.
• Oversee and support payroll department through backup processing of weekly payroll for all departments and divisions of the company utilizing company payroll software.
• Assist with all quarter and year-end payroll processes and reporting, including benefit plan audits and 5500 census reporting.
• Assist in maintaining payroll software to ensure accuracy of employee payroll and HR data files.
• Prepare various documents necessary to produce financial statements, periodic reports, and year-end audit work papers in accordance with established procedures.
• Participate in annual physical inventory process.
• Develop knowledge and understanding of company banking policies and procedures.
• Develop knowledge of product lines, customer base, and supplier base.
• Complete all other duties, as assigned. Requirements • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a managerial or supervisory role within the accounting field
• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems is necessary
• Experience with ADP - Financial Services is preferred
• Familiarity with ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning and ERP Solutions is a must
• Comprehensive understanding of accounting functions
• Experience in handling Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) is required
• Auditing skills and experience is a valuable asset
• Experience in managing Billing Functions is needed
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Problem-solving and analytical skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Knowledge of the Plastics Manufacturing industry is a plus
• Must adhere to all company policies and regulations
• Ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
