Job Description Summary

As Clinical Specialist reporting to our Clinical manager, you’ll operate across our MDS portfolio to support the implementation of our Italian clinical and sales strategy.

The Clinical Specialist support to customers and potential customers through clinical activities and education within a defined geographic area. This individual will provide clinical support, product in-servicing, case coverage, troubleshooting, and fulfill all administrative duties in a timely manner. Secondarily, promote growth of Vascular access management through specialized clinical sessions, training programs and evidence generation programs. Facilitate Advanced Practice PICC Placement workshops in the territory of coverage, Clinical on-site support, and conduct peer review.

Responsibilities:

  • Promote KOL engagement to enable the MDS solution through the clinical practice.

  • Promote growth of Vascular access solution focused on PICCs, Midlines and SherLock 3CG technology and use of ultrasound in key growth hospitals.

  • Attend and occasionally run Regional PICC Precepting Program Meetings.Train MDS organization (direct and indirect) on clinical/scientific/technical topics

  • Organize and update the MDS Clinical Information data base (including its strategic use in regional tenders)

  • Develop links with Scientific Community, KOL’s and other stakeholders (including clinical workshop organization when required) in collaboration with Medical Affair roles

  • Monitor competitors’ clinical/scientific activity

  • Strategic analysis and planning clinical activities & ROI

  • The Clinical Specialist will provide both educational and clinical support to accounts / customers assigned by the Clinical Manager.

  • Educational Support: Educates and trains physicians and hospital personnel on technical matters relating to BD products through conducting and/or coordinating: One-to-one in-services, Staff in-service, educational programs, Seminars and/or workshops for local hospitals.

  • He/she will work closely with the Clinical Manager to understand the account landscape, including key physicians and clinical staff, competitive activity and expectations for supporting the current business initiatives, and also assists Clinical Manager and in-house training department in educating / training new Clinical Specialists and Territory Managers. Provides training and resources for hospital staff to enable them to conduct training for their personnel (train-the-trainer). Presents the clinical evidence and health economics analyses. Sales

  • During clinical training activities:

  • He/she will be a strong support as a clinical resource to physicians and support staff regarding BD products. The new resource will maintain relation with accounts to support BD business initiatives, with regular connections (calls, visits, etc.). Demonstrate knowledge of SPIN® Selling and utilize this systematic approach to cover customer needs and manage customer’s expectations.

Your Profile:

  • Education and/or Experience: Degree in Nursing, Cardiovascular, Radiology, Vascular Surgery or other equivalent technical discipline.

  • Minimum of 3 - 5 years' experience in the Vascular Access Management, Operating Room, Interventional Radiology Lab, or Cardiac Cath Lab. All experiences must be certified.

  • Advanced knowledge of vascular access management, vascular surgery, and endovascular medicine is preferred.

  • Strong time management skills with an ability to maintain priorities and meet established deadlines.

  • Self-motivated, self-responsibility and managing priorities with minimal supervision.

  • Understanding of the management of clinical evidence and a previous professional experience in clinical roles in Pharma and/or Medical Companies will constitute a preference.

  • Must be able to travel approximately 70 % of the time within assigned territory.
