Huron-Clinton Metroparks (Seasonal) Boat Rental Shift Supervisor / Assistant Manager in Milford, Michigan
PAY RATE: $13.05 - $14.10 per hour DOQ (up to 600 hours per year or 120 days per season).
Eligible part-time employees will receive up to a $5.75 per hour retention bonus for all hours worked from Memorial Day through Labor Day. GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: Work activities in this position primarily involve the operation and maintenance of the Boat Rental at Kensington Metropark.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Employees in this classification will perform one or more of the following:
Implement approved accounting procedures, including checks and balances, with regards to cash flow and cash register or point of sale operation.
Oversee the maintenance and operation of a clean, safe, litter-free beach, picnic area, bathhouse, and/or equipment rental facility.
Assist with and set up equipment for rental; inspect for broken, damaged or worn parts; make minor adjustments and repairs; take apart and properly store for the night; wash boats weekly.
Distributes and collects boat rental equipment.
Be able to instruct the public on the proper and safe use of equipment.
Ensures rental agreements are written up properly, deposit records are accurate and money handled properly.
Ability to operate a point of sale system.
Assist with and supervise maintenance tasks; such as cleaning restrooms, washing windows, mopping floors, picking up litter, cleaning walkways, tending flower beds, etc.
Ensure the operation of profitable and efficient resale/rental operations.
Evaluate employees under their supervision.
Advise and guide employees in developing good work habits.
Give necessary instructions to all those reporting directly to them.
Keep accurate stock inventories and order when necessary.
Set schedules for cleaning and normal maintenance.
Suggest and institute new procedures for more efficient operations.
Schedule all hours of work for personnel reporting to them.
Ensure that all employees use accepted safety measures and precautions.
Oversee employee facility orientation and training.
May operate outboard engine boat to assist watercraft users (upon completion of Boater Safety).
