The position will work Monday - Friday from 7:30am - 4:00pm and will report to the Fleet Maintenance Supervisor. JOB SUMMARY: Acts as the maintenance technician responsible for the repair, troubleshooting, maintenance, and preventative maintenance for the Cartage Fleet of trucks and trailers. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Performs corrective and preventative maintenance on medium and heavy-duty vehicles and trailers. Troubleshoots various systems including electrical, drive train, HVAC, brake, engine, and suspension, identifies needed repairs, and performs corrective action. Writes up on the repair order an accurate, clear, and detailed description of the cause of failure and the repair procedure(s) used. Uses diagnostic equipment to detect and isolate faults in medium and heavy-duty vehicles and trailers and interprets test results. Reads written fault description on Repair Order and determines the most efficient repair procedure. Performs all work within Standard Repair Times (SRTs).
