Scrap Metal Services, a scrap metal recycling and processing company, seeks a Scrap Inspector for its Mill Services site in Mingo Junction, OH, located at JSW Steel Mill. This a 24/7 operation with multiple shifts. Responsibilities:

• Incoming scrap inspection by Rail and Truck
• The testing of scrap both visually and with a spectrometer.
• Scrap pile maintenance.
• Monitor Processes, Materials, or Surroundings.
• Monitoring and reviewing information from materials, events, or the environment, to detect or assess problems.
• Observing, receiving, and otherwise obtaining information from all relevant sources.
• Inspection of in/outbound loads.
• Receive, inspect and grade in/outbound loads of scrap metals.
• Direct driver throughout facility and designate dumping area.
• Identify non-conforming and/or out of specification materials.

Requirements:

• Knowledge of Outlook and Excel.
• Willing to learn the truck scale and assist.
• One year experience of operation (scrap handling preferred). Will train.

Other Skills:

• Good communication, language, and reading skills.
• Work with minimum supervision.
• Experience working in a team environment.
• Recognizing potential hazards. Willing to work in different outdoor/weather conditions.
• This position requires a lot of walking.
• Operate with integrity, have a positive attitude, work with minimal supervision and with others as part of a team in a fast-paced, non-stop environment.
• Understand and carry out supervisors' instructions (written and verbal).
• Flexible to changing work conditions, assignments, reporting on time and working as scheduled.
