The Cost Analyst ensures accurate cost records and keeps the records up to date.  Tests and identifies opportunities for cost savings.  Understands how activities and their costs are linked to products, processes and customers.  Tracks monthly costs and production activity to provide insight into areas meeting cost reduction and process or profit improvement.

The responsibilities of this position shall consist of, but not be limited to, the following:

  • Assist with the development of overall profit & loss forecasts for new items and programs being considered

  • Track plan/actual variances post-launch in support of the sales, marketing, and R&D teams

  • Perform periodic cost rolls as needed to ensure accurate cost accounting

  • Assist in preparing cost estimations for brand new items and new configurations as requested

  • Prepare monthly SFR value files to ensure accurate and consistent reporting by site

  • Prepare monthly obsolescence accrual and disposal requests with plant and DC (Distribution Center) staff as necessary to maintain accurate inventories

  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as necessary

Required Education: 

  • Associate Degree in Accounting or Finance or related work experience

Required Experience: 

  • Advanced PC skills, particularly Excel 

  • Advanced analytical skills and ability to analyze financial data, make informed decisions, and communicate financial implications/results

  • Excellent interpersonal skills 

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills 

  • Attention to detail; ensure accuracy in financial reporting and compliance

  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices

Preferred: 

  • Experience using an ERP (ideally SAP) to control supply chain financials

  • Cost Accounting experience in food manufacturing 

  • Experience working with SAP

  • Prior business management experience 

The salary range for this role is $56,000 - $77,880 (Annually). Actual salaries will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to external market data, internal equity, location, and candidate skill set and experience. Base pay is just one component of Jack Link’s Total Rewards package for Team Members. Other rewards may include annual incentive and program-specific awards.
