Job Title: Crane Technician
Job Description
As a crane technician, you will operate from your home, using a company vehicle to visit various manufacturing facilities in the twin cities metro area. Your role involves performing OSHA inspections, testing, troubleshooting, and repairing overhead cranes. This position entails mostly local travel, with occasional overnight stays required for longer assignments outside the metro area. You will service overhead crane systems and hoists by performing quality installations, conduct OSHA equivalent inspections, document and complete warranty work, troubleshoot breakdowns, perform preventive maintenance, and respond to emergency service/breakdown calls. You will also support customers by effectively interfacing with them and the office in repairing equipment as needed, perform electrical and/or mechanical adjustments or repairs with or without engineered drawings, maintain rapport with customers by examining complaints, identifying solutions, suggesting improved methods and techniques, and recommending system improvements. Additionally, you will document service and installation actions by completing forms, reports, and inspection checklists, maintain professional presentation, timeliness, appearance, and organization in all areas, and develop working knowledge of Federal, State, and local codes for overhead cranes and hoists. You are also responsible for company equipment including company vehicle(s) and tools.
