Overview of Position The primary purpose of this position is to support the implementation of antiracist research projects that address the impact of structural racism on population health. The person in this position (50% or 75%) will play an essential role as a coordinator in working with scientists to advance research on the measurement of structural racism and its impact on population health at the Center for Antiracism Research for Health Equity. Starting pay is dependent upon the selected candidate's relevant qualifications, experience and internal equity: $24.04 - $28.85 per hour $25,000 - $30,000 annually (50% appointment) or $37,500 - $45,000 annually (75% appointment) Work arrangements: The University of Minnesota endorses a "Work.With Flexibility." approach and we offer a flexible work environment that meets the needs of our students, faculty, staff, and partners we serve. Onsite location: University of Minnesota, Urban Research and Outreach Engagement Center, 2001 Plymouth Ave N #106, Minneapolis, MN 55411 Key Responsibilities Project Coordination (60%) Project Evaluation (15%) Research Writing and Analysis (15%) Administration and Communication (10%) Detailed Description of Responsibilities Project Coordination (60%) Execute the day-to-day implementation, administration, and coordination of research projects and programs (e.g., Ignite the Spark Scholars Program), as directed by the Administrative Director Serve as the main point of contact for scholars and research participants Prepare and update project work plans, reports, and deliverables accurately and on time. Collaborate with project staff and other stakeholders to monitor and ensure accuracy of program documentation, budgets, and related materials. Assist with obtaining external data sets for scholars and work with IT to monitor and ensure data security for projects. Create and develop tools to manage key stakeholders, scholars, research participants, and community partner contacts. Assist in convening two national conferences on measurement of structural racism Project Evaluation (15%) Update logic model Conduct process and outcome evaluation activities based on logic model using qualitative and quantitative research methods Prepare reports on findings from evaluation activities Research Writing and Analysis (15%) Conduct literature reviews; consolidate and synthesize relevant information for scholars. Initiate the preparation of reports, scientific publications, and presentations for local, national, and international conferences. Summarize research results for a wide range of audiences. Administration and Communication (10%) Provide administrative support for the Center for Antiracism Research for Health Equity. Serve as a liaison with the School of Public Health, University of Minnesota, and external partners. Communicate with program participants, community members, funders, foundations, and other partners. Partner with Manager of Communic tions to develop strategies and to promote and support CARHE's work. Meet with CARHE leadership team regularly The Research Coordinator will complete other assigned duties and have regular meetings with their supervisor to prioritize and discuss tasks. Qualifications All required qualifications must be documented on application materials. Required Qualifications: Bachelor's in public health or a related field, with at least two years of experience; or a combination of related education and experience to equal six years. Demonstrated experience coordinating projects with multiple stakeholders. Dedication to advancing health equity and justice in health care. Strong interpersonal skills, including demonstrated excellence in writing, telephone, email, and in-person communication. Robust organizational skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively with minimal supervision, within a multidisciplinary team. Preferred Qualifications: Experience working within and collaborating with historically and contemporarily marginalized communities. Demonstrated experience with practical writing skills, including an ability to translate research results into reports, policy briefs, papers, and presentations for academic, government, business, and community audiences as well as media, health care providers, and healthcare delivery systems, and policymakers. Experience participating in or leading research projects in public health. Experience working in a higher education institution or research institute. Knowledge of federal regulations related to research with human subjects. Demonstrated interest in dismantling structural racism, e.g, improving maternal and infant health outcomes; intersections of racism and medical education; violence and health.
