This position is based out of our Bloomington, MN office, it requires up to 60% travel throughout the US. COMPENSATION & BENEFITS: Our base salary is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. The starting base salary range for this position is listed below. Actual starting salary will be based on a variety of factors including experience, skill set, education, performance, license/certifications, business needs, and other job-related factors permitted by law. Starting Base Annual Salary Range: $66,180 - $100,100 Bonus Eligibility: This role is eligible for an annual bonus based on a combination of company and individual performance. POSITION SUMMARY: This position is responsible for supporting Logistics Automation system sales for SICK, Inc. by providing technical support to the sales team, customers, integrators, and distributors. RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide support throughout a system's life cycle from the concept phase to the system design and fabrication, assembly, installation and support. Test customer applications to validate system functionality and performance as required by the customer. Travel to customer sites to evaluate customer applications, recommending SICK solutions to solve technical problems. Evaluate new technical solutions to verify functionality and provide feedback to the engineering team. Support field evaluations and competitive tests. Provide systems training to customers, integrators, distributors and the sales team. Provide continuous technical support for customers, integrators, distributors and the sales team both over the phone and over email. Handle difficult customer situations, upholding a positive customer image of SICK, Inc. Gain knowledge to better support the customer through complex factory systems automation. Work with internal resources and external installation resources to identify areas for continuous improvement. Provide technical support to Field Service when needed. Utilize standard methodologies in capturing customer requirements and translating into relevant system definitions Carry out other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned or required. QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering preferred OR equivalent experience 1-2 years of experience in new system development, project management, or new system definition toward Industrial Automation. Experience in technical systems sales and/or systems marketing. Experience in machine vision is a plus. OTHER QUALIFICATIONS Ability to self-start and learn on the fly. Programming capabilities in MatLab, C, C++, Helcon or Lua a plus.
