RESPONSIBILITY AND AUTHORITY This position reports directly to the Assistant Controller within the Chief Accounting Officer organization. This position is responsible for ensuring that the Company is complying with various technical accounting requirements, including but not limited to revenue recognition, equity investments, leases, equity compensation, debt and derivative valuation, goodwill impairment analysis, and contingent consideration arrangements. In addition, the position is responsible for accounting for any mergers or acquisitions activity and ensuring that any acquired accounting functions are properly integrated. This position also oversees the management of the Company's lease accounting software and processes. This position is a highly engaged accounting support role that works directly with multiple functional areas across the organization, including finance, corporate development, tax, treasury, and operations. PRIMARY ACTIVITIES Oversee the process of researching, documenting, and resolving technical accounting issues in accordance with US GAAP and IFRS, including monitoring, communicating, and implementing new and emerging standards. Establish and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and systems, considering the implications of new accounting standards. Lead technical accounting aspects of significant transactions, including advising business partners on the structuring of potential transactions to ensure compliance with US GAAP and optimize accounting outcomes. Oversee review of significant contracts, including revenue contracts, for proper accounting. Manage technical accounting aspects related to mergers and acquisitions, including purchase accounting, valuations, memorandums, supporting documentation to internal and external audits, and coordination with global entities regarding accounting adjustments. Oversee processes requiring external valuation specialists. Manage the continuous review and update of Global accounting policies and procedures, including training throughout the organization. Review and provide guidance on journal entries related to complex accounting areas. Oversee developing and delivering a training program for accounting functions and other departments on technical accounting matters. Oversee internal controls to ensure compliance with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX). Lead the goodwill and asset impairment review process. Collaborate with internal and external auditors on technical accounting topics, new accounting pronouncements, and their respective impact and application. Liaise with the Financial Reporting department to provide input to external filings. Assist and, at times, manage special projects, including preparing audit committee and senior leadership presentations, developing training and accounting documentation, coordinating across stakeholder groups, and implementing other initiatives as required. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in accounting Active CPA license or similar designation 10+ years of accounting experience with at least 5+ years of Big Four public accounting experience Strong technical understanding and expertise in the practical application of US GAAP (IFRS is a plus) Subject matter expertise will include revenue recognition, M&A, goodwill, and fair valuations. Strong knowledge of SOX compliance Demonstrated problem-so ving ability (identify problems and develop/implement solutions) and analytical skills. Excellent communication, written and verbal, and interpersonal skills. Strong leadership skills and ability to work well cross-functionally. Hands-on mentality and approach - lead by doing and becoming an integral part of the team. Able to manage and execute changes in job responsibilities as they arise.
