Position Summary The Training Instructor is responsible for delivering hands-on training, classroom instruction, and practical shop experience to prepare students for employment in various construction and manufacturing roles. The Training Instructor will teach courses focused on core skills used in the building trades and manufacturing. The Training Instructor will guide individuals with little to no background in construction or manufacturing toward the next level of learning accredited certificates and/or preparing for apprenticeships or workplace readiness programs within 4-12 week time frame. General Responsibilities Training Instructor perform a wide range of duties including but not limited to the following: Collaborate with the Training Coach/Case Manager and other EMERGE staff to assess participants skills, interests, and aptitude results. Stay informed on the intake, assessment, and enrollment of participants in credentialed training programs. Teach basic math for trades and blueprint reading. Proctor skills tests, including CASAS and OSHA 10 safety instruction. Instruct on the proper use and handling of all hand tools, power tools, and equipment. Teach assigned courses at various times and locations based on org.& institutional needs. Make continuous efforts to enhance the quality of instruction and curriculum. Develop and use diverse teaching methods and materials to help students with different educational and experiential backgrounds achieve course outcomes. Track participant/ student progress. Perform any other tasks and duties necessary to support the agency's mission.
