Overview

The Project Financial Analyst is responsible for supporting project financial governance, budget and forecasting, financial metric analysis, and reporting within IT Finance. Candidates should be an excellent team player with an aptitude for understanding both financial and operational concepts/procedures for the critical areas supported. Continual development and practicing of sound relationship management with internal and external customers is crucial. Additional areas of responsibility may also include managing accounting and invoicing systems/processes and capital planning/management for IT equipment/software.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Responsible for timely and accurately processing of project financials and current forecast from initiation to project completion.

  • Develop strong relationships and continuous communication flows with all project controllers in Project Participating units to ensure that working assumptions are shared, consistent and reported in a timely manner.

  • Coordinate and effectively manage all internal financial interfaces on the project such as participating units.

  • Responsible for monitoring financial health of portfolio through project performance

  • Support life-cycle updates of cost estimates to completion (ETC)/estimates at completion (EAC)

  • Facilitate any monthly, specialized, and ad hoc reporting associated with the Portfolio

  • Ensure compliance with internal and external accounting standards and financial policies

  • Conduct in-depth financial analysis and reporting

  • Ad Hoc financial analysis support

  • Prepare monthly financial reporting packages and ad hoc analysis to help support key business conversations. Ensures completion of financial close processes as well as data accuracy.

  • Guide stakeholders through budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.

  • Work with Technology Team to tell their story through easy-to-understand financial analysis.

  • Communicate efficiently and effectively with multiple levels of Business and Finance leadership on Total Cost of Ownership, financial metrics, and cost transparency initiatives.

  • Proactively communicate complex analysis in a concise, organized manner to both financial and non-financial senior leadership for decision making. Provide consultative services to business partners and senior leaders.

  • Analyze cost savings opportunities; reporting and measuring against metrics to assess the financial success of the program.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • Three (3+) years relevant work experience

  • Proficiency using high mathematical concepts such as fractions, algebra, statistics, mathematical modeling and, to some extent, calculus

  • Understanding of IT processes and ability to translate and communicate technical concepts into business language

  • Excellent analytical, problem solving, decision-making and quantitative analysis skills to provide insights into performance and efficiency opportunities

  • Strong planning and organizational skills to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities

  • Excellent accuracy and attention to detail skills

  • Excellent customer service skills in all interactions with internal and external customers, including but not limited to personnel from other divisions, vendors, suppliers, and other departments

  • Experience with Planview is highly preferred.

  • Physical demands with activity or condition may include occasional to rare amount of time include walking, bending, reaching, standing, and stooping

  • May require occasional lifting/lowering, pushing, carrying, or pulling up to 20lbs
