Afternoon Shift Truck Shop Technician

Description

We are looking for a talented Diesel Technician to join our Distribution business in Mississauga.

This is an afternoon shift position (Monday-Friday working hours: 3h15pm to 11h45pm) and does come with a shift premium. Unionized facility. 310T certification is mandatory for this role.

Main duties will include heavy engine repairs and chassis repairs (suspension, drive train, brake systems, HVAC etc.)

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Completes repairs and rebuilds on engine products in a service workshop under supervision.

  • Applies documented procedures and policies to complete basic repairs and schedule maintenance, including preparing required parts and tools.

  • Disassemble, inspect and clean engines and /or engine components.

  • Assists with completion required documentation, such as work completed documentation, time sheets, warranty claims and quality forms, via handwritten forms or business system input screens.

  • Completes training in line with skill and business requirements.

  • Maintains work area and tools for cleanliness and proper operation.

  • Ensure adherence to all relevant Health, Safety & Environmental policies, procedures and legislation and reports any issues / incidents to their supervisor.

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • 310T Journeyman certification

  • Locally valid driving permit (Preferred)

This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Work will include but not limited to - in-frames/over-hauls, engine swings, electrical diagnostics on various mid-range and heavy-duty platforms.

Hourly wages between 40.95$ and 44.50$ (plus premiums)

Experience

  • Intermediate level of work shop experience required

  • Intermediate level knowledge of and/or experience with engine products


(Entry):

  • Primarily engaged in maintenance or basic repairs/diagnostics

  • Requires direct supervision and review of workmanship quality

(Intermediate):

  • Completes complex internal engine repairs

  • Performs engine overhauls with limited direct supervision

(Advanced):

  • Ability to troubleshoot with limited/no support from diagnostic tools

  • Larger more complicated engine rebuilds

  • Mentor junior technicians including technical support and documentation

Compensation and Benefits
