Emerson MSOL North Region Business Development Manager in MONTERREY, Mexico

Job Summary

Based in Monterrey, Mexico, the Measurement Solutions North Region Business Development Manager is responsible to support measurement solutions (instruments and analyzers) north region business growth, guiding the north MSOL sales team towards MSOL business unit focus and growth in northern Mexico (eg. Identifying growth opportunities through defining new product needs, or through new applications, and finding opportunities to bring value and customer dedication through ways to communicate these values effectively to the audience), and the deployment of the Business Unit defined growth programs through Mexico Sales & Marketing organization. Success in this job is for a large part measured on profitable business growth and customer happiness in North Mexico.

In this role, your responsibilities will be

Drive North MSOL Business

  1. Develop and implement short and long-term business strategies and goals for the MSOL product groups (Pressure, Temperature, Level, Flow and Analytical) across different industries.

  2. Support Project Pursuits and Creation of Demand in existing installed base (both Emerson installed base and competitor’s).

  3. Coordinate activities to ensure sufficient attention on the product groups for the sales channels.

Product Groups Management

  1. Products tiering and positioning, portfolio management

  2. Closely supervise volume and price/discount trends; develop price programs

  3. Deliver the new products launches - built by the Product Group - to the region

  4. Ensure the regional plans are understood and supported, and that everyone is clear on their roles and results for the plan

  5. Supervise price and exercise role in Discount Authority process (DoA).

  6. Follow up on products profitability and educate the Sales Force on tier management to improve price and profitability

  7. Provide Support to the MSOL Sales Organization

  8. Deliver sales trainings; value propositions, promotional material, standard methodologies, etc.

  9. Use and promote the use of the sales tools among the Sales Force

  10. Develop driven displacement strategies and tools

  11. Prepare and deliver customer presentations; participate at customer events, participate on regional fairs and events, etc.

  12. Ensure that collateral material (QBR, Validated Results, etc) originated by MSOL are known by the Sales Force and have the accurate visibility and are available through the accurate channels

  13. Participate with the Sales Channel and Customers generating documents, abstracts and presentations to be presented at the Emerson Exchange or any other similar event

  14. Define and implement marketing strategies through analysis of sales data and current strong position

  15. Recommends pricing policy consistent with profit and volume goals

  16. Assist with coordination for industry or product trade shows

Identify growth opportunities – applications, markets, technologies

  1. Market research for the product lines (market segmentation, sizes, participation rates, growth rates, etc.)

  2. Coordinate local marketing initiatives with global and Latin American marketing initiatives

  3. Support Country Planning initiatives

  4. Actively communicate regional needs to the MSOL Sales & Marketing organization

  5. Assist in creating material when the region requires specific customization of marketing results

Actively drive and support cross-product activities

  1. Wireless, Safety/SIS, Industry, Instrument Consultancy, Global Marketing Leaders (GML) Initiatives, Global Sales Leaders (GSL) Initiatives, Strategic Account Leaders, etc.

Any other responsibility as assigned by the MSOL organization

  1. Support Quality System

  2. Advise the channel of issues where appropriate, including coordinate recalls and CAR holds

  3. Participate in POR & S&OP process and provide input and supervise outcome vs forecast

  4. Maintain a positive Measurement Solutions image with customers and peers

Who you are:

You observe situational and group dynamics and select best-fit approaches.

For this role, you will need:

  • B.S. degree or equivalent experience in Engineering or related field

  • Three (3) years proven experience in instrumentation sales or marketing.

  • Language: English required for frequent contacts with factory in Europe.
