This role is a hybrid work arrangement. Work schedule to be discussed with the hiring Manager according to the guidelines defined by the department.

This is a temporary, part-time role.

Your role

The Media Solutions finance department, responsible for reporting and budget analysis of CBC/Radio-Canada's revenues, is looking for an accounting officer.

This position reports to the Lead Analyst, Financial Budgeting and Internal Reporting Analyst.

In this role, you will conduct accounting and administrative tasks and perform analyses to ensure that requests are processed in accordance with CBC/Radio-Canada policies, standards, procedures.

You will be responsible for entering, processing and interpreting data essential to the operations of the service. Collect and take action in order to respond to internal and external service requests, to ensure the application of relevant procedures and policies, and to perform administrative tasks necessary for the management of the service.

You will be responsible for interpreting financial management standards, policies or procedures and advising managers in order to resolve difficulties encountered in the processing of financial data, and reporting etc.

You will have to communicate with internal clients to carry out follow-ups relating to various contractual obligations. Your role will also consist of making payments related to these contractual obligations when these are confirmed.

You will have to produce monthly financial reports for the management of the financial forecast review.

You will have to collaborate on a regular basis with the sales department as well as other internal sectors.

What you bring?

  • Bachelor’s degree in administration (accounting or finance option) with one year of relevant experience.

  • Or a college diploma in administration and at least two years’ relevant experience.

  • Or Seven years’ experience performing related duties.

  • Ability to manage priorities, be organized and work well under tight deadlines.

  • Ability to be thorough, meticulous, accurate, resourceful, discreet, concise, curious and adapt easily to new computer tools.

  • Interest and ease in optimizing tools and procedures.

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and teamwork skills.

  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office and Google Workspace suites.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Solid command of spoken and written French (working language).

  • Knowledge of English is an asset.
