CAE USA INC Manager - Projects specialist in Montreal (St. Laurent), Canada

About This Role

We are looking for a motivated leader to grow and develop an engineering team specializing in the delivery of customized training simulators, composed of inspired and talented Project Specialists (PS).

The ideal candidate will leverage their skills to support the implementation of the PS Community of Practice (COP) alongside the Technical Lead (TL) within the existing organization.

They will respond to project resource requests by assigning the right people to the right projects based on each individual's knowledge and expertise, considering recommendations from technical leads, and ensuring the development of community of practice members.

As a team leader, they are motivated to establish an engaging dynamic focused on the professional development of their members and the improvement of service quality. They provide constructive feedback and personalized coaching.

Additionally, they ensure that their team members support and endorse strategic engineering solutions in collaboration with authorities and technical leaders, as well as with other leaders of the SSWEC (Systems and Software Engineering Center).

Typical Responsibilities of the Manager - Project Specialists:

  • Ensure the implementation and adherence to company processes and best practices.

  • Supervise the continuous improvement of the functional team of project specialists in collaboration with technical leads.

  • Help remove obstacles and impediments to ensure optimal performance.

  • Participate in recruitment activities and identify top talent.

  • Identify resource needs and make project assignments.

  • Provide constructive feedback and coaching to all team members.

  • Communicate and ensure understanding of the company's overall objectives.

  • Collaborate with various company leaders and create interdepartmental synergies.

  • Plan travel.

  • Improve working conditions and team engagement.

    Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or an equivalent combination of experience and training.

  • 8 or more years of relevant experience in the field, including at least 3 associated with deployment in a PE/PS role.

  • Excellent communication and strategic leadership skills.

  • Ability to mobilize a team.

  • Proficiency in both French and English is required.

  • Knowledge of CAE development processes.

  • Ability to remain calm in difficult situations.

  • Knowledge and experience in complex system integration is an asset.
