Ridgway Valley Enterprises, Inc. Construction Foreman in Montrose, Colorado

Summary/Objective: The Construction Foreman is the on-site lead representative at construction sites. The Construction Foreman coordinates on site construction activities and oversees Ridgway Valley Enterprises, Inc. ("RVE") field personnel for specific project scopes. This includes ensuring the project progresses on schedule, verifying materials and equipment are delivered on time, and assigning specific tasks to the RVE equipment operators, truck drivers, laborers, and other team members.

Compensation & Benefits: The minimum starting wage for this position is $32 per hour, dependent upon experience and ability. Full time regular employees in this position will qualify to participate in group health, dental, and vision insurance plans. All regular full-time employees are provided with an employer paid basic life insurance policy, and eligible employees can participate in the Company's SIMPLE IRA retirement plan. This position is eligible for paid time off and sick leave benefits, after minimum time requirements are met. The Company also provides profit-sharing bonuses twice per year.

Supervision Received: Works under the direct supervision of the Superintendent who oversees field operations and manages Quality Control.

Supervision Exercised: This position has oversight for scopes of work including management of Employees, Equipment and Materials associated with those scopes.

Essential Functions: The listed examples may not include all of the duties of this position. Reviews and analyzes project plans and specifications in order to fully understand the project and scope of work. Develops a schedule and cost-effective plan for completion of assigned project. Coordinates and schedules the work activities of RVE self-perform construction workers, subcontractors, and professionals, communicating to and via Superintendent/Project Manager to deliver instructions and project assignments as appropriate. Coordinates with suppliers for timely delivery of materials in collaboration with the Superintendent/Project Manager, where necessary. Regularly inspects work for quality and timeliness. Prepares and provides progress reports to Superintendent, and makes recommendations for necessary modifications. Ensures specifications and regulations outlined in architectural and engineering plans are followed. Addresses any safety violations or other deficiencies and ensures weekly safety meetings for RVE construction workers are conducted. Builds and maintains positive relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and clients. Collaborates with the Superintendent and the Project Coordinator in the project close-out process including "As-Built" drawings. Performs other related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Education: High School Graduate or Equivalent

Experience: A minimum of five (5) years of experience working on Civil Commercial construction projects in a similar or related position.

Required Knowledge & Ability: Ability to fulfill above-described functions in a professional manner. Good verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work under pressure. Ability to oversee and coordinate a variety of people in different roles. Extremely detail-oriented. Ability to read, understand, and execute blueprints, specifications and details. Thorough understanding of legal requirements relating to construction and building sites. Thorough understanding of quality building practices. Ability to quickly identify and solve problems.

Physical Requirements: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Must be able to access and navigate all areas of the construction site in all types of weather. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Must have the ability to work in stressful situat ons.

Position Type/Expected Hour of Work: This is a full-time position which will typically involve 40+ hours a week. Must be able to work under deadlines with the possibility of working beyond normal business hours and weekends as job duties demand.

Travel: Periodic travel may be required for this position.
