Job Title: Cell Operator

Job Description

Cell Operators will be stationed at their designated 'Cell' and tasked with taking rubber products for the automotive industry through the production cycle. The process and steps are nearly identical regardless of the specific cell assignment.

Responsibilities

  • Take the molding tool and fill it with raw material, placing metal rings into slots.

  • Flip the tool onto the machine and begin filling the next molding tool.

  • Remove the molded tool from the machine and use an air brush to cool the product.

  • Flip the tool to knock off the rubber parts onto a table/work station.

  • Visually inspect the products for small defects such as air bubbles or rips.

  • Dump the inspected products into a bin, weigh them, and track the quantity.

  • Perform quality checks using a binder outlining exact defects to look for.

  • Keep a shift log at the work station, tracking various aspects of production and maintenance.

Essential Skills

  • Standing on feet for full shift

  • Attention to detail

  • Ability to lift 35lbs 30 times per hour

  • Ability to work safely and follow quality standards

  • Ability to read and understand English

  • Strong communication skills

  • Enthusiasm about the opportunity

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in production, inspection, packaging, and machine operation

  • Experience in general production, material handling, and assembly

  • Ability to follow no-smoking policy during work hours

  • No more than 2 jobs in the last 6 months

Work Environment

This role requires working in a controlled environment. Operators can wear shorts and regular shoes; PPE including gloves, safety glasses, and Kevlar sleeves are provided. There are no smoking or tobacco products allowed on the property, and employees cannot leave the facility during their shift. The shifts available are 2nd shift (Monday – Friday, 2pm-10pm or 3pm-11pm) and 3rd shift (Sunday – Thursday, 10pm-6am or 11pm-7am). Breaks include a 20-minute break during an 8-hour shift and another 20-minute break for a 12-hour shift.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Morristown, Indiana.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $23.00/hr.
