Robert Half Network Engineer (IPv6) in Morrisville, North Carolina
Description
We are offering a long term contract employment opportunity for a Network Engineer in Morrisville, North Carolina. This role primarily revolves around the configuration, testing, and documentation of Routing and Switching products. The Network Engineer will not only ensure smooth operations but also contribute towards improving the overall lab infrastructure.
Location: Onsite in RTP (Raleigh/ Durham, NC 27709) – 1 day a week and as needed in the lab.
Job Description:
Daily activities include designing, building, testing, and integration of automation solutions for certification requirements across the product lines.
Work within a collaborative team environment for the entire lifecycle of the certification process - this includes technical documentation writing/development, network analysis, and business analysis/feasibility studies.
Responsible for testing routers, switches, wireless equipment, and documenting findings.
Experience in configuring products and command line knowledge required.
Testing for certification authority needs
Requirements
Required Skills:
CCNA level networking knowledge and experience
Network analysis
Very detail-oriented
Lab testing experience
Security and OS hardening experience – a big plus
Self-motivated, self-starter, demonstrated ability in IT Networking and Security
Strong analytical and logical reasoning skills
Excellent written and verbal communication, listening, and presentation skills
Good technical writing skills and ability to draft sophisticated engineering documentation
CCNA, CCNP, or similar certifications preferred
Experience with test automation
Working knowledge of networking technologies including network security/IDS/IPS, network access, routing, switching, data center/cloud computing, cryptography/encryption
Interview Process: Two interviews: first round – 30mins with the Hiring Manager; second round – 30mins with the Lead.
