rPosition Summary:

The University of Idaho College of Engineering invites applications for a 9-month (academic year) non-tenure track Assistant or Associate Clinical Faculty position to teach courses at the undergraduate and masters level, to both in-person and distance students. The position will support programs in engineering management, technology management, and engineering technology.

The selected candidate will be expected to teach in areas such as project management, process improvement, quality control, advanced manufacturing, and management of engineering teams. The position is in the Department of Nuclear Engineering and Industrial Management and is located on the main campus in Moscow or one of the campus centers (Boise, Coeur dAlene, Idaho Falls).

rrUnit/Department Summary:

The Department of Nuclear Engineering and Industrial Management was formed during the summer of 2020 by bringing together graduate degree programs of nuclear engineering, engineering management, technology management and an undergraduate degree program of industrial technology (changing to engineering technology summer 2025 onwards). The department is located in Idaho Falls and has a close relationship with the Idaho National Laboratory. Students are located across the country as most of the classes are offered at a distance. Engineering Management and Technology Management masters programs are offered online only.https://www.uidaho.edu/engr/departments/neim

rrRequired Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in industrial engineering, engineering management, or a closely related field.
  • Experience teaching or training in academia and/or industry
  • Experience communicating both orally and in writing
  • Ability to obtain a Professional Engineer (PE) license in Idaho within 5 years of hire.

rrPreferred Qualifications:

  • Experience teaching university-level courses in project management, quality control, process improvement, or manufacturing
  • Significant industry experience, including leadership in engineering teams or projects
  • Ph.D. in industrial engineering, engineering management, or a closely related discipline
  • Experience in mentoring students or junior professionals
