Position Summary
Big Bend Community College (BBCC), a rural college serving vibrant, culturally rich communities in the Columbia Basin of Central Washington invites applications for a Driver in the college's Japanese Agricultural Training Program. The Japanese Agricultural Training Program JATP is a work/training educational program for Japanese students to come to the USA. The training is an intensive 9 week program with English, Spanish, and agricultural instruction.
The Japanese Agricultural Training Program was initially conceived as a means of improving Japan's agriculture via the transfer of U.S. technology and farming methods. Today's JATP represents a continuing effort, not only to improve agriculture in Japan, but also to promote greater understanding between Japan and the United States. Academic as well as comprehensive on-the-farm training is used to accomplish this. Additionally, trainee insight into American culture and institutions is developed through participation in host family and community activities.
he JATP Instructional Training Program runs from June 24th - August 16th, 2024.

Essential Job Duties
Essential Duties:
The JATP Driver will assist and support the Japanese Agriculture Training Program by providing transportation/driving services each Friday between June 28 and August 9, with additional days as necessary and at the discretion of the JATP Director. This will include driving school owned vans and/or 11 persons mini buses.
Minimum & Desirable Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: • High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Washington State Drivers License
• Collaborative skills, able to carry out duties independently and able to follow instructions.
• Previous experience working with individuals from diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds.
