The Marketing Director for the Cardiac Ablation Solutions (CAS) team will be responsible for developing and implementing commercial marketing activities for assigned products within the CAS portfolio. This entails managing a team of product and marketing specialists to drive commercial marketing strategies and launch plans. The role also involves ownership of several Integrated Business Planning (IBP), S&OE, IBP, and Strat Plan activities. The individual is a strong leader, effective coach, strategic thinker, deliberate executer, committed team player and close collaborator, focused on team and market success.

In conjunction with sales and global regions, the Director will lead a team to develop and execute comprehensive product marketing plans that include competitive strategy, pricing analysis, sales forecasting, product launches, and inventory management.

This position will support the Cardiac Ablation Solutions (CAS) Operating Unit (OU) in advancing our capability to disrupt and lead the electrophysiology market. This position reports to the Vice President Global Marketing & Strategy.  

A Day In The Life: 

  • Deeply understands the CAS, competitive and customer (physicians, patients, administrators, and payers) trends, and regional market dynamics to make strong contributions to the development of the global strategic plan, product pipeline and annual operating plan. 

  • Develops annual Marketing plan that establishes clear objectives, strategies, initiatives, and metrics to reach overall business goals. 

  • Plans and manages annual budget. 

  • Manages the hiring, development, and performance of a highly talented team.  Cultivates career growth and fosters development opportunities aligned with their career objectives. 

  • Manage global communications and overall activities associated with product supply constraints, inventory health, and phase-in/phase-out planning and execution. 

  • Leads and coordinates product launches, product management, and market research activities spanning the assigned portfolio

  • Strong partnership and collaboration with sales organization

  • Partners closely across other marketing functions and organization.  

  • Business management: Analyzes and presents quarterly business reviews and partner with OU led and/or Region led OUs relative to business drivers and business insights. 

  • Provides strategic planning and execution for global congresses, NSM, and advisory board meetings. 

  • RepresentsCAS on U.S. pricing board and drive price preservation and reimbursement strategies globally. 

  • Drives alignment internally and across the regions, arguing for and ensuring availability of resources required to execute their respective business strategies. 

  • Works closely with the Clinical strategy partners to develop and execute clinical dissemination roadmaps and plans. 

  • Builds and leverages strong global Voice of the Stakeholder and Key Opinion Leader partnerships for feedback in Commercial strategy and tactics. 

  • Track KPIs for key programs, tactics and activities and establishing regular state of the business communications to key stakeholders

  • Oversees global forecasting and inventory management (S&OE) in partnership with Supply and Sales Ops teams.

  • Oversees US strat plan process

  • Travels domestically and internationally in support of customer engagements and internal Medtronic activities up to 30% of time.

Must Have: 

  • Willing to relocate to MN (Mounds View facility based role) 

  • Be in office per company guidelines

  • Bachelor’s Degree 

  • 10+ years' experience in Marketing in medical device, pharma or healthcare industry (8+ years with Advanced Degree) 

  • 5+ years of managerial experience 

  • 5+ years’ experience in product/therapy marketing or market development 

  • Experience in launching and scaling new products

  • Building strong marketing programs and campaigns to drive business results

Nice-To-Have: 

  • MBA or other Masters Degree. 

  • Strong multi-disciplinary skills in business and financial analytics, modeling, strategic planning, marketing, marketing research, public speaking, influencing, and negotiation is strongly preferred. 

  • Demonstrated leadership abilities and competitive mindset. 

  • Able to think strategically and shape future business direction. 

  • Strong history of collaboration with field/sales personnel. 

  • People management with focus on talent/team development. 

  • Has worked with geographies and teams outside of the United States. 

  • Demonstrated understanding of global medical device economics and pricing. 

  • Experience in or knowledge of direct to consume and direct to patient marketing strategies and programs. 

  • Ability to develop and deliver effective presentations to a variety of audiences. 

  • Proven experience and results working cross-functionally in a matrix organization. 

  • Ability to manage and track multiple priorities with both short- and long-termtimelines. 

  • Ability to quickly develop relationships and rapport with individuals at all levels and from all cultures

  • Experience developing brand strategy and tactics to grow volume and market share

  • Eagerness to learn and expand responsibilities and to grow your career through the continuous learning experience and a “how can we do better” mindset

  • Experience analyzing data and synthesizing it into presentable information to drive action
