Location: Mount Vernon, NY

Possible Hybrid

Hours: Mon-Fri 8:30am-5pm

Rate: $18-$20/hr

OVERVIEW OF PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITES :

We’re seeking a Recruiter with energy, enthusiasm, and fresh ideas to help us staff our innovative programs and services. Job candidates are our customers, and customer service is our top priority. Our Recruitment team enjoys flexibility, a supportive team environment, and opportunities to interact with the community on a daily basis. The ideal candidate will demonstrate initiative, ability to manage competing priorities, and the agility to navigate the evolving field of hiring and recruiting.

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS :

  • Be responsible for delivering all facets of the recruiting process.

  • Identify and recruit the best applicants for open vacancies by reviewing resumes/applications, assessing the knowledge, skills and experience of candidates, prescreening interviews, conducting background and reference checks, offers/rejections and processing new hire paperwork/on-boarding processes.

  • Post openings using all position appropriate venues - i.e. electronic recruitment systems, internet, NYDOL, etc.

  • Perform searches for qualified candidates according to relevant job criteria, using computer databases, networking, Internet recruiting resources, recruiting firms, and employee referrals.

  • Build networks in order to locate qualified candidates. Attend professional meetings, job and career fairs, develop working relationships, and be able to handle high volume recruiting.

    ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONAL / ORGANIZATIONAL SUPPORT:

  • Participate in inter-departmental committees and projects

  • Support program leaders in identifying recruiting trends and alternate solutions to staffing issues

    QUALIFICATIONS AND ATTRIBUTES :

  • Be able to multi-task and adapt to a quick changing environment

  • Be flexible/Organized/Excellent Communication skills

  • Have strong Computer/HRIS and Microsoft product use experience

  • Demonstrate a strong work ethic

  • Be flexible to traveling to various work locations and job fairs, open interviews, and other events as needed

  • Be able to establish and build relationships with hiring supervisors and departments, colleges and universities to assist in recruiting.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE :

  • A Bachelor's Degree with 2+ years’ experience preferred;

  • Have prior experience recruiting for human service, behavioral health type organizations

  • Experience working in electronic applicant tracking system, i.e. Jobvite
