Job Description: Mining Sample Technician
Location: Bartow, FL
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 6:00 AM - 2:00 PM (Overtime available based on workload)
Duration: 6 months with potential for extension
About the Role:
We are seeking a hardworking and dependable Mining Sample Technician to join our team. This role involves manual labor, primarily working outdoors to break down and prepare rock samples before conducting basic laboratory tests. Candidates must be comfortable working in varying industrial conditions and performing physically demanding tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
Physically break down rock and mineral samples using hammers, crushers, and other tools.
Wash, sort, and prepare samples for analysis, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
Work outdoors in an industrial setting with exposure to heat, dust, and rugged terrain.
Operate and maintain lab equipment such as flotation machines, core washers, and testing instruments.
Conduct routine lab tests to analyze the quality and composition of prepared samples.
Follow strict safety protocols and use appropriate PPE while handling materials.
Maintain detailed records of sample preparation and test results.
Requirements:
Previous experience working in an industrial setting, construction, mining, or a physically demanding field preferred.
Ability to lift, carry, and break apart the product
Comfortable working outdoors in various conditions
Basic knowledge of safety procedures in an industrial environment.
Willingness to learn sample preparation and basic testing procedures (training provided).
High School Diploma or GED required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in mining, quarry work, or materials testing is a plus.
