JOB SUMMARY
The Building and Bridges Mechanic performs a variety of tasks including carpentry, masonry, and steel work.
Duties include but are not limited to:
Repair and construct a variety of structures.
Mix concrete, mortar, pour and finish concrete.
Install temporary supports and scaffolding.
Rig steel for installation or removal.
Perform light running repairs to assigned vehicles.
Inspect vehicles daily for safety and damage.
Maintain a safe work environment.
Other duties as assigned.
BASIC REQUIREMENTS
Qualified candidates must be able to:
Demonstrate carpentry, steel, and masonry ability.
Work effectively under pressure and in all weather conditions.
Demonstrate ability to communicate well with others at all levels.
Understand and know standard construction policies.
Have mathematical and mechanical aptitude.
Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
Successfully pass background, drug screening and physical.
Provide a valid Driver's License and clean driving history.
Possess a high school diploma or GED.
Work Location:
Hoboken, Raritan, Summit.
This is a unionized position.
Rate of pay:
The pay rates are tiered and are non-negotiable. The current hourly pay rate is $34.68.
