Murray State University Business Coordinator in Murray, Kentucky

Summary of Job Duties and Responsibilities:

General office manager duties. Organizing and maintaining departmental records and files; determining priorities of work. Hiring and scheduling a staff of up to 5 student workers to provide customer service in areas of housing, dining, bookstore, vending, CampusPrint and RacerCard. Provides administrative support to Auxiliary Services leadership team and assistance in all areas of customer service within auxiliary services. Develop and maintain department wide operational policies and procedures. Oversee card office activities while card office manager is out of the office.

  • Ability to work with details, accuracy, memory for oral and written instructions, alertness, initiative, ability to plan and make decisions, and excellent communications and interpersonal skills.

Customer Service

  • Oversee customer service desk assisting students, faculty and staff with issues related to housing, dining, bookstore, RacerCard, CampusPrint and vending services.

  • Interview, select, hire, schedule and supervise student staff to ensure proper operation of customer service.

Fiscal Responsibilities

  • Process Auxiliary Services’ accounts receivable and accounts payables with accuracy.

  • Reconcile Auxiliary Services’ purchasing cards with accuracy.

  • Process deposits for Auxiliary Services’ with accuracy.

  • Reconcile dining and housing financial statements for accuracy.

  • Prepare accurate information for use in reports and presentations.

  • Assist with developing Auxiliary Services’ annual budgets and reconcile accuracy monthly

Administrative Responsibilities

  • Assist Auxiliary Services leadership team with accurate schedules, reports and documentation in support of departmental efforts.

  • Prepare accurate documents for meetings and presentations.

  • Document and maintain written department procedures.

Minimum Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field.

Minimum Experience and Skill Requirements:

  • Two years’ experience in bookkeeping or accounts management area.

  • Six months’ experience in a customer service environment.

  • Keyboarding, filing, bookkeeping and microcomputers.

  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google Docs, Google Sheets and Google Calendar.

  • Good working knowledge of office and accounting procedures.

  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize duties.

  • Ability to adapt to change and demonstrate working in a team environment.

Hourly Rate: $23.09 (Additional pay dependent upon qualifications)
