Job Summary and Qualifications
Under the supervision of the AVP of Payer Contracting and Alignment (PCA), and on behalf of HCA Physician Services (PSG), Urgent Care, and Hospital Based Physicians in their respective market; As a Business Analyst II, you will coordinate and assist in all Commercial, Managed Medicare and Managed Medicaid, Behavioral Health, Direct Employer and Workers Compensation Payor negotiations. You will complete contract reviews and compliance activities in support of the Managed Care strategies and business. You will provide support to PCA Director, market practices and Parallon with Payer escalations related to systemic enrollment and claims related issues.
Job Responsibilities:
Assist the Director of Payer Contracting and Alignment in the development and implementation of a market-specific physician/payer contracting strategic plan.
Provide physician/payer contracting support and expertise by attending scheduled meetings with operations leadership with the Division/Market/Practice Management and Payers within the respective market area.
Under the guidance of Director of Payer Contracting and Alignment, coordinate and administer managed care contract negotiation process for designated Division/Market /Practice Management or as assigned.
Maintain permanent record of all payer contracts and fee schedules, Monthly Operating Report, status updates and support related service center payer contract compliance efforts.
Prepare as necessary and audit for accuracy fee schedules for internal and external parties.
Prepare and distribute regular reports including, but not limited to: Division/Market physician rosters, payer rosters reflecting status of new and outstanding physicians, Division/Market payer matrix, summary of negotiating activities for a period, and other reports as requested by Director or VP of Payer Contracting and Alignment.
Prepare Action Plans for use by Provider Enrollment to credential and enroll physicians with payer plans and provide support as needed in the enrollment process to ensure timely enrollment of physicians.
Provide payer rate/contract support and analysis in practice pre-acquisition due diligence process
Work with payers to resolve issues related to claims or enrollment, as escalated by Provider Enrollment or Practice Management/Division Operations.
Educate and mentor peers in job duties and assist AVP with certain onboarding activities including but not limited to systems training.
Perform special projects as assigned by management.
Administer company’s guidelines for payer contracting and compliance.
Maintain knowledge of state and federal legislative and regulatory laws and rules regarding managed care.
Job Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree is Required
3+ years of experience in relative role is required
1+ year(s) of experience in managed care, preferably with prior experience in contract analysis and negotiations. Business office experience preferred.
Financial analysis and advanced knowledge of Excel
Negotiation skills
Knowledge of Managed Care Environment
Familiarity with Physician/Payer contract language
Good communication and organization skills
