Summary This is a public notice flyer to notify interested applicants of anticipated vacancies through the Certain Competitive Service / Modified Direct Hire Authority. Responsibilities At the GS-07 and GS-09 you will perform developmental duties as assigned. At the Full Performance Level (GS-11), you will perform the following: You will perform or advise on work in any of the phases or systems of budget administration. You will analyze and recommend costs and benefits of alternative methods of financial management of organization’s programs and administrative operations. You will implement legal and regulatory controls over approved budgets. You will provide advice on effective and efficient methods for the acquisition and use of funds to support the organization’s programs and activities. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications GS-07: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-05) or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector assisting with the performance of functions of budget and/or financial management duties. Examples of specialized experience include some or all of the following: 1) Gathering financial data and identifying discrepancies in the data; 2) Assisting in the preparation of budgets; and 3) Utilizing knowledge of administrative and financial management systems. GS-09: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-07) or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector applying a wide range of standard practices and procedures to phases of an annual budget and/or financial administrative processes. Examples of specialized experience include most or all of the following: 1) Analyzing financial data to recommend costs and benefits; 2) Assisting in development, determination, and interpretation of budgetary policies and practices; and 3) Assisting in accounting, budget, and other related financial management work. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Education In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience: GS-07: bachelor's degree with superior academic achievement or 1 full year of graduate level education or a combination of education and experience GS-09: master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., if related or a combination of both education and experience Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work. Additional Information This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program. Several vacancies may be filled. This position is eligible for part time, substantial or ad-hoc telework at the discretion of management.
