Job Title: Welder and Fabricator

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Welder and Fabricator with expertise in performing welding tasks on various types of steel. The ideal candidate must be proficient in Stick, Flux Core, and MIG welding, and capable of handling out-of-position welding (overhead, vertical, and horizontal). Knowledge of blueprints and measuring tools is essential for accuracy in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Perform welding and fabricating tasks on various types of steel including aluminum, hot roll, and cold roll.

  • Execute Stick, Flux Core, and MIG welding techniques.

  • Conduct out-of-position welding (overhead, vertical, and horizontal).

  • Read and interpret blueprints accurately.

  • Use measuring tools such as tape measures, gauges, and squares to ensure precision.

Essential Skills

  • Proficiency in welding, particularly MIG welding.

  • Experience with Stick and Flux Core welding.

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.

  • Skill in using various measuring tools for accuracy.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a custom weld shop.

  • TIG welding experience is a major plus, but not required.

Work Environment

This position is based in a custom fabrication and welding shop that caters to clients' specific needs. The shop is not climate controlled and can be dusty and loud at times. The work environment is a small, close-knit shop where precision and skill are valued.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of New Albany, Indiana.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $25.00/hr.
